The digital age has amplified harmful social dynamics, with online spaces becoming hotbeds for misogyny and misogynoir. Women, particularly Black women, and nonbinary femmes face targeted abuse that intersects racism and sexism, often silencing their voices and impacting their well-being. This panel will explore the multifaceted nature of online misogyny and misogynoir, analyzing how these intersecting oppressions manifest across platforms. Panelists will examine harm reduction strategies marginalized communities employ to resist and survive in digital spaces. Through critical discussion, we will explore community-driven tactics such as digital self-defense, collective care, and technology to disrupt harassment. Attention will also be given to emerging tools like AI-based harm detection systems and the role of policy interventions in mitigating digital violence. This session invites participants to envision a future where technological and cultural practices work together to create safer, more equitable online environments.
