Amplifying Leadership from the Margins
We are committed to amplifying lived experiences and leadership from the margins. This program provides a platform for individuals to share their stories and insights, influencing both public discourse and policy.
For too long, the conversation around online safety has been dominated by a few powerful voices. Yet, some of the most critical insights come from those with direct, lived experience: young people, teachers, and leaders from underrepresented regions. We believe in the power of lifting up and connecting these ongoing initiatives to achieve more. This program works to create a new table for shared leadership, ensuring that the people most affected by online harms have a central role in shaping the solutions.
Our events are a core part of how we implement our programs, creating opportunities for learning and dialogue that are open to all. Through the Voices of SHIELD Program, we aim to:
We provide a platform for young leaders and individuals with diverse experiences to share their insights, helping them influence public discourse and policy.
We create spaces for dialogue and shared learning across disciplines and sectors, allowing lived experiences to inform and enrich technical expertise.
We run global campaigns and organize events on critical issues to promote critical thinking and engage communities in meaningful dialogue
We use the insights and stories gathered through this program to inform our advocacy work, ensuring our policy recommendations are grounded in real-world realities.
Our approach is designed to produce systemic and personal change
We give people the tools and confidence to share their stories and become advocates.
We help create a more equitable digital world where everyone's voice is heards.
We ensure that new regulations and policies are shaped by diverse perspectives.
