SHIELD

In March 2015, a head teacher at a high school in the Apulia region of Italy found that a female teacher was keeping a paper register because the school had not provided teachers with electronic devices, and suspended her for one day. The teacher appealed with a lawyer from a teachers’ union. On 16 February 2018, a local labor court annulled the sanction, finding no proof that the teacher had a device to fill in the register, and noted that teachers received tablets only after the disciplinary charge.
